Who matters most today?

Instead of focusing on WHAT we want to achieve this year, what if we focused on WHOM we want to impact? Start each day with kindness, good intention and, OK, a degree of caffeine! Channel your energy toward the people who matter most.

THE EXPERIMENT

Before diving into your ‘to-do’ list, take a quiet moment to answer three questions:

  1. Who’s the most important person in my life today? It could be a family member, a colleague, a friend – or even yourself!
  2. How do I want them to feel by the end of the day? Inspired? Supported? Loved?
  3. What’s one small action I can take to make that happen? Send a thoughtful text; give them your full attention in a conversation, or leave a small surprise (keep it clean!)

Write their name at the top of today’s agenda, so they’re always top of mind.

WHY THIS WORKS

Emotional Anchoring Focus on someone else, and you shift your mindset from reactive to proactive, helping you feel more grounded and purposeful.

The Helper’s High Acts of kindness trigger the release of feel-good hormones like oxytocin and serotonin, boosting your mood and reducing stress.

Ripple Effect Positive interactions inspire reciprocity, improving your relationships, and spreading the January joy waaaaay beyond ‘your person’ for today.

MAKE IT STICK

Switch It Up Choose someone new each day to broaden your circle of impact—and don’t stop just at close friends or colleagues.

Reflect at Night Before bed, think about how your action impacted the person – and how it made you feel.

This January, let’s make people—not just productivity—the heart of our day. Start with one person. See if a small act of care creates a big wave of connection and joy.

Be like Amelie… kidnap someone with kindness today!
